About the Grosse Ile Musicale

The Grosse Ile Musicale was founded in 1932, and has been supporting, sharing and offering musical programs to the community ever since. The Musicale is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization run by a board of directors.

The main mission of the Musicale is to provide Islanders and residents of neighboring communities with unique musical events that entertain and further appreciation of performing arts. Membership is open to everyone. The organization also is dedicated to encouraging and supporting young musicians through scholarships and outreach programs.

The Musicale typically hosts six to seven musical performances per season with the final program featuring the awarding of the annual Founder’s Scholarship to well-deserving student artists to assist in their future education and development.

Concerts are held at the Grosse Ile Presbyterian Church sanctuary and other venues on the Island conducive to music events. Please view the Programs page for the schedule of performances for the 2024-2025 season, which is the 93rd year of bringing people together on Grosse Ile to enjoy unique musical events that entertain and further appreciation of performing arts while fostering friendships. The Musicale is the oldest social organization on the Grosse Ile that is not connected to golf.
